Respect Life Mass – January 22
Bishop Campbell will be the celebrant at a Respect Life Mass on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 E. Broad Street, Columbus. On this day of the anniversary of the United States Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade, our diocese will join all of the dioceses of the United States in observing a Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children. We hope you can come. Please encourage your fellow parishioners and friends to attend.
Rally for Life at the Statehouse – January 22
A Rally for Life sponsored by Greater Columbus Right to Life will be held following the Mass at Noon at the Statehouse west plaza. Many of those participating in the Mass will be walking to the Statehouse.
March for Life in Washington, DC – January 25
For those who plan to attend activities in Washington, DC, related to the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, please visit the U.S. Catholic Bishops’ National Prayer Vigil for Life website at http://www.usccb.org/about/pro-life-activities/january-roe-events. There are many groups from around the diocese planning on participating in the March For Life in Washington, DC, on January 25. Attached is a list of bus trips. Seats are still available. Please RSVP as soon as possible. There are other groups attending that are full.
Call to Prayer for Life, Marriage and Religious Liberty
Finally, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has called for a nationwide Call to Prayer for Life, Marriage and Religious Liberty. Enclosed is a flyer about this new effort. For details, please visit the USCCB website at http://www.usccb.org/life-marriage-liberty. Diocesan plans to participate in this effort will be forthcoming.
