Reminder:  All students need a spiral notebook and a binder.  Students need to keep a log in their spiral notebook as their project progresses.  Pages below (ex: 15a) correspond to booklet page numbers. (Dates subject to change with advanced notification)

 NOTE: Research paper must be turned in on disk.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Tuesday      9/04          Parent Signature Form due

Wednesday 9/12         Topics submitted for approval with rough outline.

                                    Be sure you are making entries in your log book.

Week of Sept. 24^th      1 on 1 meetings with Mr. Schwieterman to discuss revisions

Monday      10/01       Topics must be approved by Mr. Schwieterman

Friday         10/05        Evidence of 3 book sources and 15 note cards due

Friday         10/19       Evidence of 6 sources and total of 30 note cards due

Tuesday      10/23       Proposals due with all required paper work (Checklist for Adult Sponsor,  

                                    Research Plan, Research Plan Attachment, Approval Form 1B

                                    Includes procedure (15a)

Friday          10/26       Minimum total of 50 note cards due

Friday          11/02       Final copy of Outline, note cards, and sources brought to school to begin paper

Tuesday       11/20      Rough Draft of Research Paper due for Peer Review

Tuesday       11/27      Final Rough Draft due in class (this draft will be given to the mentors)

                                   Final Rough Draft Parent Signature Sheet due with paper                                  

Tuesday       12/04      Problem (9a), Hypothesis (12a), Variable (13a) due – typed

Friday          12/07      Mentor Writing Workshop   

Tuesday       12/18       FINAL DRAFT of Research Paper due with all corrections made

                                    (two copies – Mrs. Klueppel & Mr. Schwieterman will grade this copy)

 Monday        1/07       Actual experiment should be completed  

Tuesday        1/07       Last Day to order and pay for Science Fair Display Board                                 

Wednesday   1/09       Rough draft of results (17a), Chart (18a), Graph (19a) and

                                    Conclusion (20a) due

Monday        1/14        Future study and Abstract (8a) due

Monday        1/21       Complete binder, logbook and disk due at school (will be graded)

 Friday           2/01       Completed Display Boards due at school (boards will not go home after this day)

Thursday      2/07      Oral presentation and judging after school and in the evening.

                                   Schedule – TBA (~ 4-8pm)

Saturday       2/09       8^th Grade Science Fair – 9:00-11:00 am in Gym
