The Dominican Sisters of Mary
A New Chapter In the History Of St. Michael School
The Dominican Sisters of Mary received a most gracious welcome from the parish of St. Michael’s in Worthington, Ohio when they arrived in August of 2011. The Sisters are grateful to the many people who have given so generously of their time and talents to prepare for and support this new mission for our community in the Diocese of Columbus. In a wonderful testimony to the Lord’s providence, the building that was once used as office space for the parish was renovated to convert back into a convent, as was originally intended. What a joy to be able to restore the witness of religious life to Saint Michael’s and to share in the history of Catholic education that is present in the parish.
Presently, four Dominican Sisters of Mary are blessed to serve at this mission: Sr. Mary Michael is principal of St. Michael School, Sr. Mary Jacinta teaches Kindergarten; Sr. Joseph Maria teaches Spanish, and Sr. Catherine Marie teaches Junior High Religion. The Dominican Sisters of Mary extend their sincere gratitude to the Most Reverend Frederick Campbell of the Diocese of Columbus and to Fr. Richard Pendolphi, Fr. Stash Dailey, Fr. Carmen Arcuri, and all the families of St. Michael parish and school.
